Diesel Mechanic
Description
The diesel mechanic is a hands-on position. Under minimal supervision, the Shop mechanic directly repairs company tractors, trailers, crew trucks, and heavy equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
- Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings.
- Maintain DOT records and maintenance records on each company vehicle.
- Perform routine maintenance on all company vehicles.
- Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive, mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
- Develop, implement, or evaluate maintenance policies and procedures.
- Examine objects, systems, or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5 years of mechanical experience
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Hydraulic and DOT knowledge a must CDL Class A recommended but not required
- Certified DOT Mechanic
- Air Brake/Air Conditioning knowledge a plus
