Project Information

After the synagogue was sold, the future of several sacred elements—including a Holocaust memorial—was uncertain. Rabbi Gil-Ezer Lerer and members of Temple Menorah led a collaborative effort to preserve the memorial and ensure it was not lost. The installation consisted of four urn-shaped sculptures mounted on heavy marble pedestals that were secured to the floor, requiring specialized equipment and careful execution to remove safely.

Big Red was brought in to perform the precise removal work needed to protect both the sculptures and the surrounding stonework. The team carefully separated the pieces from their mounts, allowing them to be transported for restoration rather than destroyed. This work enabled specialists to successfully restore and reassemble the memorial, which now stands at Temple Menorah as a preserved tribute to its history.
